Things to Consider

1. There is surely enough detail while simply describing the place, as I know this place like the back of my hand. For example, to describe the sand pit I’d say, “After the 2006 string of hurricanes that bombarded Florida, all that remained on this barren little lot, was the empty shell of a house that use to be a home. All of their personal items they left behind were either destroyed, or unusable. Because of this, the house was torn down, and all that remained was a lot filled with sand. This, my friends and I though, would be perfect for our next adventure. Chase and I rally with Doug, and Cliff near the split between Imperial Lane and Oakmont, and we run to Alex’s house to inform him of the good news. Alex, who lives across from the sandlot, has already seen the potential in the land, and before we even got to him, he was already digging. All I have to do is include enough wordage to describe said location. As I look to my left over this vacant sandlot, I can see a field in the background and on the right side of the field, a quaint little barn…” etc.

2. I establish myself as a credible source by letting people know that this was my home for my whole life, which means I know about it more than they do, therefore, they will find it very hard to contradict anything I say.

3. The neighborhood is rather large, and the boys and I covered a mighty large area of the neighborhood throughout our childhood, so moving to a new setting will not be an issue, as there are far too many places that I will not be able to cover in my paper that also are so important to me.

4. We need to know who the audience is. I believe the only few people who will be reading my paper are the teacher and a couple of students willing to help with peer review, so I'd say that my grammar will be geared towards them.

5. I assume that my readers also had similar experiences with childhood friends and hope that my readers are still close with childhood friends to this day. This will help with the emotional side of the story, reflecting on how simple times were and how carefree we were in our youth.
